Please see our response to your question. soe Apologies for the delayed response, we have recently updated our webpage for clarification in these scenarios. if a foreign national submitted their application before November 1, 2024, they may change their program, the field of study is not required. If the foreign national requires an extension for a program they changed prior to November 1, 2024, the field of study is not required. IRCC recommends that the foreign national submit proof of the change of program with their application. The onus is on the applicant to satisfied the officer that they meet all eligibility requirements. If the foreign national completes a program and starts a new program after November 1, 2024, they must meet the field of study requirement for that new program.
