CRS calculator

Estimate a CRS score against the published grid. Results update as you fill in the form. This is not an IRCC assessment, and it is not a prediction that you will be invited.

2026 category-based selection follows the official IRCC tables (page details 22 Jun 2026).

  • Healthcare, STEM, trades, education, and transport: at least 12 months full-time (or equivalent part-time) in the last 3 years, in a single listed occupation, in Canada or abroad.
  • Physicians, senior managers, and researchers use the same 12-month rule, and the work must be in Canada.
  • This experience does not need to be continuous.
  • French-language proficiency is NCLC 7 in all 4 abilities.
  • Skilled military recruits is a separate FSMA pathway, not a 12-month occupation tag.

Read the program doors and the category layer on the programs hub. CRS is defined in the glossary.

Applicant information

You

CRS age points are 0 at 45 or older. FSW grid points are 0 at 47 or older.

Foreign credentials need an Educational Credential Assessment for an IRCC application.

Languages

Estimate applies the same CLB/NCLC to all four abilities. Score lets you enter CLB 4-10+ (or NCLC) per ability, matching the IRCC CRS tables. Approved tests and conversions: IRCC language testing.

English (CLB)
French (NCLC)

The calculator uses the higher-scoring official language as first official language. French NCLC 7 in all four abilities can add 25 or 50 CRS points and may meet the French-language category threshold.

Skilled work

Skilled work for Express Entry is usually TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3. Count full-time years or equivalent part-time.

Occupation

Search the official list of 516 NOC 2021 5-digit unit groups from Statistics Canada. Express Entry skilled work is usually TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3. Confirm your code with IRCC Find your NOC or the ESDC NOC search.

Family

If your spouse is not coming, or is a citizen or permanent resident, IRCC scores you as a single applicant.
