Invitations are not admissions. Category × citizenship is year-end only: 2023 Table 44 and 2024 Table 20a (top 10). Open Data dataset 593e9165 EN_INVITATION_CATEGORY is program only (CEC, FSW, FST, PNP). It is not French, healthcare, STEM, or trades. This page does not draw a French-to-Cameroon Sankey from Open Data. Category-based selection starts June 2023. No pre-2023 French, healthcare, STEM, trades, transport, or agriculture category rows.2025 category volumes come from the 2026 consultations page (MBR_FACT_EE_ITA_CBS as of April 7th 2026. Data are operational and subject to change. All values exclude Provincial Nominee Program ITAs.). There is no 2025 year-end citizenship table.

3. IMDB wages, not invitations

Label the grains. IMDB is landing wages. The Sankey and map are ITA heads. Invitations are not wages. Year-end Express Entry earnings tables exist for Federal High Skilled cohorts. Category-based landing outcomes are not in the 2024 year-end yet. This panel does not invent CBS earnings.

Admission category medians, tax year 2023

Pre-admission experience medians, tax year 2023

Study-only is the weak average ($20,100). Study and work $48,700 and work-only $50,000 remain near the top. CEC principal applicants remain highest ($60,600; peaked $71,000 in 2021).

The correlation weakened because the mix shifted. CEC PA share went 12% (2020) to 27% (2021) to 5% (2022). Work and study share went 39% (2021) to 22% (2022). The all-immigrant median fell -10.6% to $39,800 in 2023.

Students who studied then worked here are still a strong path. A volume-and-mix change pulled the average down. They become Canadian. Do not read the study-only average as a verdict on an immigrant class.
