ITA
Invitation to Apply
IRCC invited a ranked profile to file the eAPR. Sixty days from that invitation.
On the official record
- The permanent-residence terms PDI says an ITA is given to Express Entry candidates with the highest CRS scores at the time of a round.
- You can respond, decline and return to the pool, or ignore it and leave the pool.
- Rounds of invitations are general, program-specific, or category-based. Category-based still requires eligibility for one of the three Express Entry programs.
Common mix-ups
- Not an approval of permanent residence.
- Not the eAPR. The ITA opens the 60-day window to file that application.

The catch
If your facts change after the ITA and your recalculated CRS falls below the cut-off for that round, the apply page says you should decline. Filing anyway can be refused.
What people mix up
An ITA is not an AOR and not an approval.
