eAPR

electronic Application for Permanent Residence

The application after an ITA. Sixty days. Completeness against the Express Entry completeness PDI.

On the official record

• The completeness PDI requires a complete electronic application for permanent residence within 60 calendar days of the ITA.
• A complete file is the eAPR, the fees, and the supporting documents that validate the profile and the application.
• IRCC apply page says the invitation is valid for 60 days only. If you neither decline nor apply in time, the invitation expires and the profile leaves the pool.
• Filling an Express Entry profile is not applying. The apply page says a profile, even with an ITA, does not count as having applied.

Common mix-ups

• Not a pretty profile in the pool.
• Not the ITA itself.
• Not an AOR. Submitting the eAPR produces an electronic receipt. The AOR comes after the completeness check.

The catch

Completeness is the PDI checklist, not what looked complete in the account. CEC needs at least one year of eligible Canadian work. Filing the eAPR before that year is complete is an eligibility refusal risk, not a completeness shortcut. If a public page and the completeness PDI disagree, the PDI wins.

What people mix up

A profile in the pool is not an eAPR. The eAPR is the permanent residence application after the ITA.
