These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of unredacted.ca and related pages, tools, feeds, and emails we send from that brand (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. What this Site is
Unredacted is an independent information and tools site about Canadian immigration. It publishes calculators, draw history, glossaries, guides, and links to official sources. It is not a Government of Canada website and is not affiliated with IRCC, ESDC, CBSA, or any province. Reading a guide or using a tool does not, by itself, create a retainer.
Using the Site does not create a consultant-client relationship, a retainer, or solicitor-client equivalent confidentiality with SJP Immigration Inc. or with Steven J. Paolasini. Advice on your file starts only after a signed service agreement and, where required, a completed IMM 5476.
2. What this Site is not
The Site is not legal advice, not an IRCC assessment, and not a guarantee of any score, invitation, nomination, permit, or visa. Calculators and visualizers are estimates built from published rules and official datasets. They can be wrong, late, or incomplete. Confirm anything that matters on the official page (canada.ca, ontario.ca, or the relevant provincial site) and, if you need advice, retain a licensed representative.
You remain responsible for your applications, profiles, and disclosures to government.
3. Official data
Draw figures, category lists, and similar public data are taken from official publications (including IRCC's Express Entry rounds JSON and ministerial instructions). We may cache that data so the archive stays complete. Official sources win if we disagree. We do not promise continuous uptime or instant updates after IRCC publishes a change.
4. Tools
CRS, OINP, and other tools on the Site run in your browser unless we say otherwise. Do not paste passport numbers, UCIs, application numbers, medicals, or other client file material into the Site. We do not want that data here, and submitting it does not open a file with the practice.
If a tool later offers an account or email delivery, those features are optional and covered by the Privacy Policy.
5. Affiliates and deals
Some links (cards, banking, transfers, insurance, and similar) are affiliate or referral links. We may be paid if you apply or buy through them. That does not change the product, and it is not an endorsement by IRCC. We only list things we think are actually useful. Read the issuer's own terms before you apply.
6. Acceptable use
You will not:
- scrape the Site in a way that degrades service, or republish our original explainers as your own product
- attempt to break, overload, or probe the Site
- use the Site to collect other people's personal information
- impersonate SJP Immigration Inc., Unredacted, or Steven J. Paolasini
- use any tool output as a government filing without checking the official rules
Automated access for search indexing of public pages is fine. Copying the full draw archive for a competing product without permission is not.
7. Intellectual property
The Unredacted name, site design, original writing, and tool interfaces are owned by SJP Immigration Inc. Official government text, tables, and datasets remain the Crown's or the publishing government's. You may link to the Site. You may quote short passages with credit and a link. You may not copy the Site wholesale.
8. Email and notices
If you subscribe, you agree we may email you about IRCC updates, new tools, and SJP Immigration services, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing email will have an unsubscribe. Transactional messages (for example, a confirmed subscription) are not marketing.
9. No warranty
The Site is provided "as is." We do not warrant that scores, eligibility flags, or draw comparisons are correct for your facts. Immigration rules change. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent Ontario law allows.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent Ontario law allows, SJP Immigration Inc., its directors, and Steven J. Paolasini are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost invitations, refused applications, or missed deadlines, arising from use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim about the Site is limited to CAD $50, or the amount you paid us for Site access in the prior 12 months (currently $0), whichever is greater.
This cap does not limit liability that cannot be limited under Ontario law, including gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify SJP Immigration Inc. against claims arising from your misuse of the Site, your republication of Site content, or your decision to file with a government based on a tool output.
12. Third-party sites
Links to canada.ca, ontario.ca, affiliates, and other sites are not under our control. Their terms apply once you leave.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change. Continued use after a change is acceptance. Material changes that affect email subscribers will be noted in a post or email when practical.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief anywhere to stop misuse of the brand or the Site.
