The Updated temporary public policy for nationals of iran in Canada as temporary residents replaced the temporary public policy for nationals of Iran in Canada as temporary residents and took effect on March 1, 2025. The public policy facilitates continued access to study permits, open work permits and status extensions from within Canada for Iranian foreign nationals who arrived in Canada on or before February 28, 2025. To be eligible, the foreign national must be a national of Iran and have valid temporary status in [requester] nationals in Canada wanting to extend their stay as a visitor or study permit holder can apply through the regular process. Open work permits approved through the public policy are issued under the authority of section 25.2 of the immigration and Refugee Protection [requester] note that the public policy does not grant foreign nationals an exemption from requirements of the Act or Regulations ata port of entry, including the requirement to submit to an examination. Dear [requester], — ” I hope this email finds you well. | would appreciate your clarification on the following matter: If a minor child holds a valid Visitor Record but leaves Canada with their parent and later re-enters using their valid visa, does the existing Visitor Record remain valid until its validity, or is it considered void upon departure from Canada? Once allowed reentry into Canada, can the minor remain in Canada legally with their parents until the expiration of their Visitor Record?
