At the time of the PGWP application submission, the study permit holder and the family member(s) can submit their different work

permit applications as a family group. As with the family group outside Canada, the principal foreign national’s PGWP application

would be assessed first, and then the family member's open work permit application would be finalized.

In most cases, the spouse ofa PGWP applicant, will hold a SOWP that was valid to the same date as the study permit that was provided to the spouse. This means that typically, we would submit the extension applications as a family group. The PGWP application and the spouse’s SOWP extension. Is ths sil an option? Willan officer first make a decision on the PGWP and then consider the SOWP that was submitted in the family group submission? Or, do we have to wait for a decision on the PGWP before submitting the SOWP given this requirement?
