Under the previous programs for caregivers, permanent residence applicants could apply for an LMIA-exempt work permit under exemption codes C90, A71 or A75. Information for occupation-restricted or open work permits for PR applicants under ‘the new Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots (HCWIP) does not seem to be available yet. Can these applicants apply for a work permit under LMIA exemption code A7S after their permanent residence application has been subritted? Are there additional eligibility criteria for HCWIP applicants to apply for work permits during processing of their PR application? Kind regards,
