Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will continue to process family class sponsorship applications according to the usual procedures and to take into account the number of immigrants that Quebec wishes to be admitted to Quebec each year. A final decision can only be made on an application once the Ministére de I'Immigration, de Ia Francisation et de I'Intégration (MIFl) has approved the sponsor's application for the undertaking and issued a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) to the sponsored person. For more information on the procedures to follow to apply for an undertaking, and the impact of the rules for receiving applications, we encourage you to consult MIFI’s website. The open work permit described in the Temporary public policy exempting certain applicants applying under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class or the Family Class from work permit requirements (“the temporary public policy”) will continue to remain available to eligible sponsored spouses, partners, and their dependent children who have submitted a complete application for sponsorship.
