In order to gain Canadian work experience, the applicant must have had temporary resident status during the period of work [R87.1(3){c) Additionally, asylum claimants in Canada will likely be inadmissible by virtue of the fact that they want to remain in Canada permanently, but do not have a permanent resident visa [A41(a) and A20(1)(a)] and are issued a removal order. Could you please confirm whether individuals who have submitted an asylum claim inside Canada and are awaiting a hearing at the Immigration and Refiygee Board of Canada (IRB) are eligible to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry?
