A candidate may be awarded education points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) for having ‘two or more post- secondary program credentials’ as per Ministerial Instructions 11(1)(a)(vi), if the education credentials represent separate certificates, diplomas, or degrees. If one credential is used as a component of the second credential, then itis not considered two separate credentials even though two separate certificates were awarded. To obtain points for having two or more post- secondary credentials, at least one of them must be issued at the completion of a post-secondary program of three years or more. Please be advised that the assessment of an application is based on a case-by-case basis; each application will be considered onits own merits, with a final decision based on a review of all the information available to the officer at the time of decision.
