Our understanding of eligibility for a work permit extension submitted via CPC Edmonton is set out in IRPR 181(1): * *181 (1) A foreign national may apply for an extension of their authorization to remain in Canada as a temporary resident if © (a) the application is made by the end of the period authorized for their stay; and © (b) they have complied with all conditions imposed on their entry into Canada My question is, separate and apart from the above, are there any other criteria associated with the eligibility to extend status? Do applicants have to remain in Canada for the duration of the processing? Will a brief departure from Canada (e.g. a vacation abroad) make them ineligible? Thanks, 00506
