The questions are as. follows: 1. 1, An international graduate who holds a PGWP decides to study again and applied for and received a study permit. So they now hold both Study Permit and PGWP: 2. 2. While studying full-time, the Foreign National decides to work outside their study hours (evenings, weekends or during breaks etc.). Their question is, would their work experience count towards PR through the Express Entry CEC program or other PR programs? 3. 3. If they study part-time (evenings) and work fulltime, | assume their work experience may count as valid Canadian work experience towards PR under the CEC? Answer: Work experience in Canada obtained during a period of full-time study will not be considered Canadian work experience under Express Entry and will not count towards the eligibility of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or assigned Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, regardless of the type of work authorization held during the period. These provisions are outlined in section 87.1(3)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations and in the Ministerial Instructions 15(7)(a) respectively. However, work experience obtained in Canada during a period of part-time study may be eligible as Canadian work experience under the Canadian Experience Class and may be assigned CRS if it meets all the requirements. The definition of full-time study is determined by the applicant's learning institution, and graduates must have proof of program completion from their institution in order to begin accumulating work experience in [requester] experience obtained in Canada during a period of full-time study may be eligible as qualifying work experience under the Federals Skilled Worker Program (FSW?) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) as the regulations for those programs do not exclude such experience.
