We appreciate your patience. Question: One of the requirements to obtain valid job offer points, for a job that is exempt from needing an LMIA (i.e. work permit issued under CUSMA), is to show: “you've been working full-time for the employer(s) on your work permit for at least 1 year (or an equal amount of part-time work)” Can you advise if this would still apply if the worker was also in school at the same time (because they have concurrent study permit and work permit issued under CUSMA)? We acknowledge that they cannot claim points for skilled work experience in Canada in this scenario, but will this impact the ability to claim valid job offer points? Answer: If the candidate has been working full time for at least a year, regardless if they are simultaneously in school, that work can be counted towards the full-time experience requirements for the valid job offer points provided that they meet the other job offer requirements and meet the conditions of their work permit.
