Answer: Under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), qualifying 1560 hours of Canadian work experience may be accumulated during irregular part-time work. Work experience is capped at up to 30 hours per week, which is considered full-time employment for the purposes of the program. Part-time employment is any work of less than 30 hours per week; there is no separate cap for part-time hours. To calculate the hours for a period of work experience, the number of hours worked each week during that period are recorded at no more than 30 hours per week, then added together, and then divided by the number of weeks in the period. The work hours are calculated only when the applicant performs the duties under their occupation. Periods of leave or rest do not count as hours of performing the duties.
