These exemptions do not apply to applicants who have had their work permit extension applications refused because their LMIAs have not been approved in time. These people might be able to restore their status to visitor, but then when they receive their LMIAs—they are not able to apply for their work permit from inside [requester] is also no longer an option. Is the only option for these people to leave and then apply from outside of Canada? Or, is there at way for people who are physically in Canada to use the online application process and apply via the Canadian overseas mission in their home country using the outside of Canada process?
