We already collect some references (e.g., IRCC [requester], Student Last Name + Student First Name + Date of Birth) that could be used to cross- reference this extra piece of information regarding the study visa/permit processing (e.g. In progress, Visa [requester], Study Permit Approved). !m asking since the study permit is now closed to a specific DLI, we could potentially exchange information on the study visa/permit processing, This would allow DLI to proper better predict implications on budgets. Given this new opportunity, our partnership could grow stronger.

\f708If we build this as a bidirectional exchange mechanism, we could even be proactive by indicating those study permit holders that didn’t show ("no-shows") sooner in the enrolment process (e.g., Australia jurisdiction). We could regularly electronically ask IRCC to confirm the status of the "piece of paper” [study permit] based on IRCC evaluation of our conformity report : is the study permit is valid, on renewal, etc. ? . DLIwould therefore play an important role in protecting the ISP against misuse, and at the same time, to protect our DLI number from suspension and increase Canadian security.
