If a student registered at a DL, in a PGWP eligible program, takes courses in the program that are identified as blended delivery,

meaning part of the course is online and part of the course is in person, are these courses considered to be “in-person” courses

by IRC since the students have to be inside Canada anyway for their in class days, or are students required to calculate the

percent of each course to determine the 50% in class minimum programming requirement?

Response:

‘The 50% in class requirement is based on the length of the program, including credits earned from both in-person and

distance-learning courses, as confirmed by the eligible [requester] the course is delivered in person, then itis considered in

person/in class; if it is delivered online, then it is considered online. As such, if the co-op placement, health-care practicums,

or preceptorship are completed in-person, they-should be considered in-class.

Officers rely on documents provided to applicants by designated learning institutions, such as: Letter of Completion of

[requester], and Transcript, and applicants are responsible to provide sufficient documentation to satisfy an officer that

they meet the requirements.
