If you have case specific questions about a file, you are encouraged to submit the [RCC Web fon. A super visa allows clients to visit their children or grandchildren for 5 years at a time. It’s a visa that provides multiple entries for a period of up to 10 years, at the discretion of the border services officer upon entry to Canada. Super visa holders are required to have a valid health insurance policy for a minimum of 1 year from the date of entry to Canada. Clients are required to provide proof of insurance at the time of application, however the insurance coverage does not need to be active at this time. Clients may delay the start date of the insurance coverage to a date closer to the estimated time of travel. Upon entry to Canada, clients must be prepared to show proof of their paid, active health insurance to a border servicers oflicer. If granted entry, the period authorized for their stay is 5 years. As super visa holders do not have access to federal or provincial health care insurance, it is important that they maintain valid private health insurance coverage while they are in Canada, to protect themselves and their families. More information on health insurance for Super Visas can be found on IRCC’s website, ‘We trust that this information will be of assistance.” ‘The Immigration Representatives Mailbox De Envoyé: [requester] A: Immigration Representatives / Représentants immigration (IRCC) <[requester email]> Objet: [requester] Dear [requester], Can you kindly provide clarity with respect to the following:

The instruction guide for super visa applicants identifies proof ofa health insurance policy as a mandatory document and explains that the health insurance policy should be valid for a minimum of 1 year from the date of entry. I interpret this to mean that ifan applicant submitted their super visa application and the policy was only valid for 1 year from the date of submission of their super visa application, the super visa application would be refused because the insurance policy would be ofan insufficient length, Therefore, the applicant must necessarily purchase an insurance policy that is valid for longer than I year and must estimate at the time of purchasing their policy how long the application will take to process and when they will actually be able to travel to [requester] question is this: Ifat the time a super visa holder arrives at the port of entry, their insurance policy is no longer valid for a fall | year duration, will they be denied entry on their super visa? Would they be admitted to Canada on their super visa but have their stay limited to the remaining validity of their insurance policy? Would they be admitted for the fill S-year period but be required to provide proof ofa new health insurance policy to IRCC through some other reporting mechanism? Thank you for your assistance.
