Can they do this if they hold TRVs and valid status in Canada? ffnot, where are people who are in Canada supposed to go to have their work or study permits that were issued outside of Canada issued? Ending flagpoling for work and study permits at the border https: /www.canada.ca/en/border-services- agency/news/2024/12/ending-flagpoling-for-work-and-study-permits-at-the-border.html Answer: As announced by the Government of Canada as part of Canada's Border Plan, clients who have received the Port of Entry (POE) Letter of Introduction (LO!) while inside Canada cannot flagpole to receive their permit. Clients must leave and re-enter Canada from a country other than United States or [requester] and Miquelon to activate their permit. Clients returning from a country other than the United States, or [requester] and Miquelon would not be defined as flagpolers.
