Based on the information on the IRCC website, students can benefit from the grace period: Ifyou were accepted to a new DLI for the Winter or Spring 2025 semester (starting from January 1, 2025 to May 1, 2025) You can start studying at your new DL1 if you

* have been accepted to a DLI for the Winter or Spring 2025 semester (starting from January 1, 2025 to May 1,

2025), and

© have applied for a study permit extension, and

® have a study permit that remains valid and that doesn't have the DLI name printed on it, and

© meet all your existing study permit conditions If you meet these criteria, you can attend the new DLI you wanted to transfer to while your study permit extension is being processed, \sb280My question is pertaining to “January 1, 2025 to May 1, 2025” date, is this timeframe referring to the program/class start date? For example, student received admission to start at their new DLI during the Spring 2025 semester between January 1, 2025 to May 1, 2025. If spring semester classes begin afler May 1, 2025 can the student start their program under the grace period after applying for a study permit extension to change their DLI? Or must the student receive admission and start Spring 2025 class on or before May 1, 2025 to be eligible to start studying under the grace period? Any information or clarification would be greatly appreciated Thank you.
