RESPONSE Yes, foreign workers and visitors may enroll in studies or programs of six months or less without needing a study permit at any time during their stay in Canada, even if their work permit states they are not authorized to study. Paragraph R188(1)(c) is not intended to allow a foreign national to complete an entire program without a study permit by taking required program courses one ata time Please note that this temporary public policy allows some work permit holders to study without a study permit if they applied for their work permit on or before June 7, 2023.
