Please see our response to your question: Question: Iread through the updated Category Selection published on Feb 27, 2025 which included Insurance agents and brokers NOC 63100 under STEM category. As per the description for NOC 63100 below, insurance agents can be employed by individual insurance companies or self- employed as individual representatives: Question 1: Suppose an insurance representative who is overseas, having related certifications to practice in their country of origin, has obtained at least 6 months of work experience outside [requester] the other requirements of the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), would the applicant be eligible for the STEM category draw? Question 2: Suppose the above overseas insurance representative obtained the minimum 6 months of work experience through self- employment outside Canada and has met all other requirements for [requester], he/she doesn't have the certification(s) to work in [requester] the applicant be eligible for the STEM category draw? Question 3: Suppose the same applicant mentioned in Question 2 obtained a valid certificate to practice in a specific Canadian province during his/her previous authorized stay in [requester] the applicant be eligible for the STEM category draw if the applicant in Question 2 was ineligible because of missing certification to work in Canada? Answer: An applicant may be eligible for a Category Based Selection —STEM round in all of these scenarios, if they meet the minimum criteria for Express Entry, including being eligible for 1 of the 3 immigration programs it covers, and meet all of the requirements in the instructions for that round.
