Under the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot Home Support stream, applicants must have a genuine and valid job offer for

full-time employment in the home support worker occupation in Canada (NOC 44101) to be eligible. The job offer must

demonstrate the applicant will be providing personal care services, not health or nursing services, in a residential setting NOC 44101: Home support workers, caregivers and related occupations, provide personal care and companionship for seniors, persons with disabilities and convalescent clients. They provide care in the client's residence, where they may also reside. They are employed by home care and support agencies, private households, or they may be self- employed.

1. 1 Direct Care Agencies that own a retirement home: Job offers from direct care agencies may be eligible, but it depends on the specific nature of the caregiving role. If the caregiving work involves providing personal care services ina residential setting the job offer may qualify. Officers will use all available information to determine whether the applicant will be providing services that align with the NOC and whether the work setting is considered the care recipient's private residence. If the work will extend beyond personal care services and is offered in an institution, it may be ineligible.

2. 2. Senior Living Facilities: Job offers from senior living facilities are generally not eligible under the home support worker category. If the role involves caregiving within the facility, it would likely be considered an institutional setting. If the caregiving work involves providing personal care services in a residential setting, such as senior communities, the job offer may qualify. Officers will use all available information to determine whether the applicant will be providing services that align with the NOC and whether the work setting is considered the care recipient's private residence rather than an institution

3. 3. Long-Term Care Homes: Job offers from long-term care homes are not eligible under this category. The program excludes caregiving work performed in institutional settings, such as nursing homes or long-term care homes.
