Please note that the Undated temporary public policy for nationals of Iran in Canada as temporary residents (TPP) does not define whether ‘arrived in Canada’ refers to the foreign national’s original entry date or their last entry date to [requester], this TPP is intended to support Iranian nationals who were in Canada with valid temporary resident status on or before February 28, 2025 (the date that the previous TP? ended), and who have maintained their temporary resident status. An individual applying for a work permit, a work permit renewal, or for a study permit under this TPP must be in Canada at the time of application and when a decision is rendered. However, applicants may leave Canada while their application is pending, or between applications. Continuous physical presence in Canada is not required to maintain eligibility. In addition to any supporting documents provided by the client with their application, IRCC leverages the Entry/Exit Program with the Canada Border Services Agency to confirm whether clients meet the eligibility criteria of the public policy. Please note: A foreign national who leaves Canada no longer holds valid temporary resident status and must present themselves at the port of entry where a decision will be made whether to permit re-entry as a temporary resident.
