If the validity date has passed and they have not yet come to Canada, they must submit a new application. They cannot extend the validity date on their POE [requester] 2: The foreign national should get their deferral approved by Designated Learning Institution (DL!) and obtain an updated letter of acceptance LOA reflecting the new start date, and submit this updated letter to IRCC through their online account or our web form. [requester] client applied fora study permit for a program starting in March 2025. He was approved and received a visa and letter of introduction which are both valid until August 29, 2027. Due to a family emergency, the student deferred enrollment to next year's intake in March 2026. His letter of introduction will still be valid at that point. Questions: 1. Would he be able to use the same letter of introduction to obtain a study permit in March 2026? 2. Does he need to take any special steps? He has used the web form to inform the IRC of the deferral. 3. Would he need a PAL or can he skip that process since he already has a letter of introduction?
