We appreciate your patience. Question: Instructions with regards to ECAs for Express Entry indicate the following: You need to get an ECA for immigration purposes. If you got another type of ECA, you may be able to get it re- issued, depending on the type of ECA andior issuing organization. You must include your ECA report and the reference number in your Express Entry profile.

1. Ifa person got an ECA that was not for immigration purposes and received an ITA, would the application be rejected or would the points attributed for the ECA be removed from the CRS calculation?

2. Knowing that WES can provide a duplicate ECA for immigration purposes with the same reference number, would someone who initially had a nonm-immigration purpose ECA when they received the ITA be able to provide a duplicate for immigration purposes ECA and submit it in their PR application?

As an example: EE profile indicates: ECA number 12345/djg (not for immigration purpose) issued August 2024 ITA received January 1, 2025 based on ECA number 12345/dig New ECA issued January 10, 2025: ECA number 12345/IMM (for immigration purpose) PR application submitted with the new duplicate ECA number 12345/IMM dated January 10, 2025, post ITA received January 1, 2025 Would you accept the ECA that was re-issued post the ITA invitation in such a circumstance? [Fnot, would the application be rejected or would the CRS score be re-calculated?
