Regulation 222(1), states that © 222 (1) A study permit becomes invalid upon the first to occur of the following days: (a) the day that is 90 days afier the day on which the permit holder completes their studies, (a.1) the day on which the permit holder is no longer enrolled at the designated learning institution that is named in the permit, other than as a result of completing their studies: » (b) the day on which the permit is cancelled under section 243.2; or » (6) the day on which the permit expires.

{Students who are on an unauthorized break are in breach of their study permit conditions. The kave must always be authorized by the institution and should not be more than 150 days. ‘The IRCC website says that if RCC becomes aware that a student has not met their study permit conditions. we may ask them to leave Canada which means they don’t be able to restore their status. The outcome of any fiture applications may be impacted, and students may have to wait 6 months before they can apply for a new study permit (or for a visitor visa or work permit), Please note that ifa student becomes un-enrolled by the DLI as a result of their unauthorized leave, their study permit will become invalid.
