Itis important to note that a visa does not grant status in Canada. A foreign national’s temporary resident status in Canada is

A client whose period of authorized stay has ended has up to 90 days to apply for Restoration of Status, ifeligible. Once the

period of authorized stay has ended, the client is not considered to have status in Canada but may legally remain in Canada until a

decision is made on their restoration application. If the client does not apply for restoration of status, they are expected to leave
