Anew study permit and PALare required only if the student transfers primary enrollment to DLI B or if the course exceeds six months. Hello, | have come across two general situations that | would like to have clarifications on if the students need a new study permit application. 1. Some students get a Letter of Permission from their school (A) advisors to go to another university/college (B) to take a course or two for a semester, then return to A. This happens often when their own DLI (A) does not provide the courses in that specific term, but the students need the courses to move forward to the next term. B does not issue a letter of acceptance (LOA), but simply offers the course(s) to the students if they paid. This usually happens in a short period of time when students find out that they have to do it, thus there is not enough time to apply for a study permit. Is a new study permit required for that one semester to study in B, and if another study permit is required to return to A? If so, assuming PALs are required? Please advise. 2. High school students can participate in dual-credit (BC for example), to take post-secondary courses and receive credit towards both high school graduation and post-secondary credentials. In that case, do international high school students need a new study permit to study the courses in a DLI? If so, are PALs required? Your insights are much appreciated. Regards,
