Response: As noted in the previous response, a work permit holder can hold 2 valid work permits at the same time until it expires as long as they meet the conditions listed on each work permit. An open work permit permits the holder to work for any employer and an employer specific LMIA work permit permits the holder to work for that employer only. Ifa person holds both types of work permits, there is no one that exerts more precedence over the other. The holder must comply with the conditions on both work permits.
