When students come to Canada on a study permit, they are generally required to actively pursue their studies, be enrolled at a designated learning institution (DL!) and make progress towards completing their program's courses. They must not take authorized leaves longer than 150 days from their study program, apply to extend their study permit if they change post- secondary schools, and end their studies if they no longer meet the requirements of being a student. Additionally, they must leave Canada when their permit expires. If a student does not attend university or withdraws from their program, they might be considered non-compliant with their study permit conditions. The Updated temporary public policy for nationals of ran in Canada as temporary residents, effective from February 29, 2024, to February 28, 2025, allows them to study without a study permit if they meet specific eligibility criteria. Ga FFD erccepcress Semone conse Dear [requester]/Madam, J hope this email finds you well. | am writing to seek clarification on the compliance requirements for Iranian students who have transitioned from a study permit under the Public Policy to an Open Work [requester], | would like to understand the following: For Iranian students who entered Canada on a study permit but either never attended university or attended for a few terms before voluntarily withdrawing and then obtained an Open Work Permit: ~ Does this transition to an Open Work Permit under the Public Policy constitute non-compliance with the conditions of their original study permit, and could this affect their future immigration processes, such as Permanent Residency applications?
