Under the temporary measures for Israeli nationals, Palestinian passport holders and family members in Canada, eligible foreign nationals are able to apply for fee-exempt study permits, open work permits, and/or extensions of their temporary resident status in Canada. There is no stipulation in the temporary public policy prohibiting travel for eligible foreign nationals under the public policy. However, a foreign national who leaves Canada no longer holds valid temporary resident status and must present themselves at the port of entry where a decision will be made whether to permit re-entry as a temporary resident. Before traveling, visa-exempt foreign nationals should ensure their temporary resident status document (visitor record, study permit, open work permit), Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), and passport remain valid. An eTA is valid for up to five years or until passport expiry. Before travelling, itis recommended to consult regularly updated travel advice and advisories.
