IRCC can confirm that if the only Identity Document the applicant holds is a Hong Kong SAR Document of Identity (ie. the
client does not have a Chinese Passport or HKSAR passport), this document is valid for travel as a passporvtravel document to
Canada.
\cbpat3 The applicant can input the Hong Kong SAR Document of Identity for Visa Purposes Number under the Passport
information section when applying for a work permit form IMM1295 or any other IRC application that requires a passport
number.
