The public policy allowing visitors to apply for work permits from within Canada has ended. As a result, a person who is currently a visitor with legal status in Canada is not eligible to apply for a work permit from within Canada. If a visitor ‘would like to apply for a work permit, they can do so from outside of Canada. Ifa client has applied for a work permit using the outside of Canada process, they may receive a letter indicating they have been initially approved by IRCC. This letter is known as a Letter of Introduction (LOI) is to be presented upon initial entry to Canada to demonstrate the client still meets the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, its Regulations, and any other Canadian legislation. As announced by the Government of Canada as part of Canada's Border Plan, clients who have received the Letter of Introduction (LOI) while inside Canada cannot flagpole to receive their permit. With the recent end of flagpoling, I was wondering if it is still possible to apply for a "Work Permit from Outside Canada” while an applicant is physically in Canada? If it is possible, how will the applicant receive an original copy of the Work Permit? ‘Thank you! 002027
