Answer: As defined in section 87.1(2)(a) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, work experience must have been acquired in Canada for it to be considered eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Skilled work experience for the purpose of the CEC must have been gained by working in Canada while authorized to work under temporary resident status. If work was done remotely, the applicant must have been physically in Canada and working for a Canadian employer.
