Ifa foreign national submitted their application before November 1, 2024, they may change their program, the field of study is not required. If the foreign national requires an extension for a program they changed prior to November 1, 2024, the field of study is not required.

The onus is on the applicant to satisfy the officer that they meet all eligibility requirements.

Ifa student who is currently in Canada and changes their program of study to a diploma program at the same institution after November 1, 2024 but completes the program before their current study permit expires (which was applied for before November 1, 2024): do they have to meet the field of study requirement to be eligible for a PGWP?
