Treached out to you in March 2024 and asked about PGWP application eligibilty, specifically about whether under maintained status international students can apply for the [requester] on the reply I received from you on April 15, 2024 , the answer was Yes, they can apply for PGWP if the students are still waiting for the decision on their study permit extension decision afer they have graduated. However, we noticed some changes on IRCC's website ( Work in Canada affer you graduate: Who can apply - Canada.ca ), under General [requester] sentence was removed: © submitted an application to extend your study permit in Canada before your study permit expired and no decision has been made on your application A new sentence was added. © your study permit was valid at some point during the 180 days after you graduated Under the PDI updated on Feb, 5, 2025, the note (quoted below) clearly indicates that under maintained status students can't apply for PGWP. © Important: If a foreign national has submitted an application to extend their study permit and they are studying under section R189, section R199 does not apply to them, and they must wait until their new study permit is received in order to be eligible under R199.
