Hello IRCC team, Your departmental operational manual suggests that a Coop Work Permit shouldn't be valid longer than the holder's Study Permit, but | recently noticed that several of our students’ Study Permits expire 1 month earlier than their Coop Work Permits do. * Study permit holders Work permits issued under subparagraphs R205(c}(i.1) and (i.2), with exemption codes €32 and C33, where the work is essential to the study pragram, should not exceed the vatidity date of the study permit Conditions and validity period on work permits (temporary workers) - Canada.ca These students will become eligible fora PGWP after the expiration dates of their Study Permits but before the expiration dates of their Coop Work Permits (C32) and they would like to submit their PGWP applications in Canada as soon as they become eligible. According to R183 (4)(b.1), R209, and R209.01, these students’ Coop Work Permits remain valid after the expiry of their Study [requester], they meet the requirements of R199 (a) and can apply for their work permits (PGWPs) in Canada though their Study Permits are expired Authorized period ends (4) The period authorized for a temporary resident’s stay ends on the earliest of + (a) the day on which the temporary resident leaves Canada without obtaining prior authorization to re-enter Canada: © (b) the day on which their permit becomes invalid, in the case of a temporary resident who has been issued either a work permit or a study permit; + (b.1) the day on which the second of their permits becomes invalid, in the case of a temporary resident who has been issued a work permit and a study permit; Application after entry 199 A foreign national may apply for a work permit after entering Canada if they ooza7t
