GCMS

Global Case Management System

The system officers use. A notes request is a request for the records in that system.

On the official record

  • IRCC privacy impact summary describes GCMS as the single integrated worldwide system used internally to process citizenship and immigration applications.
  • What people call "GCMS notes" are the records retrieved from that system: officer comments, eligibility findings, correspondence, and file history.

Common mix-ups

  • Not a public portal you log into.
  • Not the same as the application status tracker.

The catch

Request the file through ATIP or the Privacy Act. This site does not pull GCMS for you and does not ask for your UCI.
