Official / RED VERIFIED

IRCC category-based selection page says you still need Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Trades to sit in the pool. Category eligibility is extra, not a replacement.

The 22 Jun 2026 page listed 10 current categories, including French-language proficiency, occupation categories, physicians, senior managers, researchers, and skilled military recruits. Occupation categories use a 12-month full-time (or equivalent part-time) rule in the last three years in a single listed NOC.

That list is not a promise that IRCC will run a round in every category this year. IRCC says it may skip a category-based round if enough people in that category are already being invited through general or program-specific rounds.

Unredacted will not paste occupation tables here so a stale copy does not outlive IRCC's update. Confirm the NOC, the 12-month rule, and whether the work must be in Canada on the live page.
